A joyful bear

The bear and the master from Ptujsko polje probably represent the gypsy and truncated bears who once walked and performed in the villages. Today we know two bears: the elderly have a dress, seamlessly from the sackcloth, and the younger ones are those with a head, a jacket, and pants of a sheepskin.

They run in groups, accompanied by a large number of drivers dressed in old clothes and equipped with various accessories: trumpets, bars, gift baskets, etc. They are fairly lively when performing, especially bears, who chase girls with pleasure and amusement.
